FAQs

How long have you been in business?

MH Create is a hobby business of mine and we launched the website in 2008 after designing my own wedding invitations, people commented on them and by word of mouth I started to get more work in.

What types of printing processes do you offer and which do you specialize in? Which do you recommend for my budget and style?

We don't specialise in anything in particular as we like to keep an open mind and try to achieve what the customer would like. However, the printing processes that we do offer are, the handmade products, digitally printed and lithographic printing where appropriate.

Is your printing done in-house or do you outsource the printing? NOTE: Printing is usually less expensive if it’s outsourced. However, a possible benefit of in-house printing is a quicker turnaround time, which could come in especially handy if any reprinting (say, due to an error) is required.

The handmade stationery is mostly created in-house, all my printing is completed at the printers where I work in full time employment, where I can keep an eye on it and follow the process from start to finish. Turnaround times are kept to a minimum, the only longer delays would be handmade of more complex invitations such as pocketfold and wallets.

Do you offer custom invitations as well as template styles? Is there a fee if I want to order a sample of either an existing invitation style or a custom design? If so, how much?

We try to cater for everyones needs, so custom designs are achieved by speaking to the client and finding out what their brief is or maybe they have already found something they like and want it reproduced slightly different to suit their wedding etc. There would normally be a small fee for a sample of each, however, if you are having a custom made package we can always include a sample into the final costs.

If I choose a custom wedding invitation, what are my options for color, paper type, ink and fonts? What is the word limit for the text? Can I also order my table numbers, place cards, order of service, menus, etc. from you?

Custom invitations are exactly that, custom, so we have a huge choice of material in different colours, from pastel material to silk, gloss or uncoated. There are a wide range of fonts available so I recommend looking at http://www.dafont.com and find something you like then we can see if we can include it into a design for you. Tex limit really depends on the size and shape of the invitation and what you actually need on there, wallet invitations are good due to the extra information inserts to slot in.
We supply table numbers/names, personalised place settings/cards, table plans, order of service, menus, thank you cards and anything else for your wedding stationery and all can be designed to match the theme.

Do you offer a package or a discounted price if I order all of the invitation components at the same time?

We can definitely come up with special deals should you order all your wedding stationery at the same time.

If I want to include a picture or graphic on my save-the-date card or invitation, can you accommodate that? If so, does the image need to be saved in a specific format? Do you have photo retouching available, and if so, what is the price range? Can your photo specialist also convert color images to black & white or sepia? Is there an additional cost?

Yes pictures can be included onto the designs, I would just make sure it is the best quality you can get as having an image on the invitations would make a big impact to the overall design and if it is low resolution it could kill the design. We can turn the images to black and white, sepia or whatever you want. Photo retouching can be done to a certain degree and depending what is required, any additional costs will be discussed beforehand.

Are there any new styles, trends and color combinations I might consider? Which are the most popular? What kinds of handmade or artisanal paper do you offer?

New styles are being created all the time and we try to keep up with what the client likes and what appears to be trending in any particular season. Colour combinations again vary on the time of year your wedding is, your wedding theme and any other factors, but trending combination colours are: watermelon pink, elegant cream and environmental green. Orange, pink and yellow combined go well. White indicates purity and love and black indicates solemn and serious. Wallet invitations are very popular with additional information sheets for your guests such as RSVP card, hotel lists, gifts info, directions and maps. Trifold invitations are a more cost effective way to get information to your guests without having pockets as the wording can go onto the foldout pages. Lace and ribbon invitations have been around for a while but seem to stick as they are elegant and traditional. Vintage designs are trending in 2012 so look out for those! Along with pinstriped designs as well. Patterns such as floral, butterfly, feathers, leaves, berries and animals are all very popular.

Can my invitations be printed on recycled paper?

Yes recycled paper is available, just make sure this is requested initially.

Based on the paper I select and the number of pieces involved, what would it cost to mail my wedding invitation? NOTE: If you use a non-standard sized envelope, postage may be more expensive.

We can personalise your invitations from a list of names you send us and also mail out if required, due to a variety of options on this, prices would have to be looked at on request.
